Healthy Environments for Physical Activity
Overview
The Healthy Environments Committee believes that transportation and recreational spaces are interconnected and represent the quality of the built environment! They work to bring physical activity to the Dearborn community.
Goal
Increase physical activity by ensuring that everyone, no matter where they live, has access to safe and desirable opportunities for play and active lifestyles.

Objectives
Conduct an Open Streets event to promote physical activity for health in October, 2019.
Increase community awareness of availability and importance of physical opportunities including walk and roll and other initiatives.
Improve and access transit through a multi-modal transportation plan

Healthy Dearborn is proposing to conduct a pilot program to adapt some city streets to become “Shared Streets” to promote healthy lifestyles.
